Jim Calhoun At Middletown Price Chopper Tuesday

WHAT: Grand opening of Price Chopper's new store in Middletown, CT will feature a flag raising by American Legion Post #75, the National Anthem being sung by the local barbershop quartet, "For the Fun of It" and much more.
University of Connecticut men's basketball coach, Jim Calhoun, will be at the store to shake hands with Price Chopper Chairman and CEO Neil Golub and to detail the extent of his charitable partnership with Price Chopper Supermarkets, which began this past weekend at the Jim Calhoun Charitable Cancer Challenge Ride in Simsbury, CT. Coach Calhoun will also make the ceremonial first cut on a custom-designed cake along with Golub, meet and greet shoppers, and sign autographs.
The new Price Chopper Supermarket and Pharmacy is one of the most environmentally green grocery stores in the Northeast and is designed to achieve silver level L.E.E.D. certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
